The White Hart is a family operated hotel; we take pride in our offer and have a genuine love for the hotel and all its creaks, wonky walls and 600 years of history!

What sets us apart from everyone else? It's simply that we care, and we listen. We are not a large fancy hotel, you are not a room number, and we want you to feel like 'one of the family'. We understand no two guests are the same; we will do our utmost to make your stay an enjoyable one.

Location
The White Hart Hotel is located in the heart of Essex, just off the busy A12 trunk road midway between Chelmsford and Colchester. Our strategic location means that the hotel is only a 20 minute drive to the M25 and 25 minutes from Stansted Airport. There is a fast and frequent rail service to London's Liverpool Street Station and the hotel has easy links to the Channel and Haven Ports.

Witham is located in East Anglia, a beautiful rural area, unspoiled by mass tourism.
Beautiful villages and small market towns abound. A 20 minute car journey will take you to Dedham Vale, where John Constable painted some of his famous scenes.

LONDON 2012 OLYMPICS... We are ideally located with a 35 minute train link straight to Stratford for the 2012 Olympics - (it would take you longer to get across central London if you were based in London!) We can offer transportation to the train station or a 5 min walk will get you there - and you can enjoy peace and quiet on your return from a hectic day at the games!

Accommodation
Our 18 centrally heated bedrooms are furnished with style and relaxation in mind. There is a choice of King-size, twin or single beds, with a warm quilt, a throw and cool cotton sheets. All rooms have ironing facilities, hairdryers, colour TV with free view and a refreshments tray. Our rooms show the character and age of this fine, 14th Century Inn. Our rooms are popular with business customers, people wishing to explore the local area, those flying to & from nearby Stansted Airport (25 min drive). We make a great layover if travelling to or from Harwich or Folkestone ports too.

The White Hart Hotel understands that time in business is precious, so with our unique and convenient location, immediately off the A12, you can locate the hotel easily and stress free. We are centrally located on the High street so once you have arrived for the night you have all a market town has to offer literally on your doorstep.
After a refreshing nights sleep and a delicious Full English Breakfast (included in your rate) it is only a 3 minute drive to the industrial estates in Witham, the A12 or a 5 minute walk to Witham Rail Station, where trains to London run regularly with a journey time of just 45 minutes to London Liverpool Street.

Restaurant
We serve traditional British cuisine with a modern twist and our specials menu change daily, we utilise seasonality and locally sourced fresh produce. We are confident that the restaurant menu offers something for everyone, and whatever the occasion our team of chefs look forward to cooking for you!
Food is freshly prepared daily on the premises, and we pride ourselves on both the quality and diversity of our menu, including our famous traditional Sunday Carvery, Fish dishes, Lasagne, Home baked Pies and fresh desserts.

Opening times for food: 7am to 10pm / Saturday & Sunday 8am to 10pm

Patio Garden
When the sun is shining, the White Hart Patio Garden is the perfect place to relax & socialise or enjoy a meal Al Fresco, with patio heaters for the cooler evenings and plenty of seating to accommodate everyone. We’ve even got plenty of fairy lights to create the right ambience and fool you into thinking you're abroad (Weather permitting of course!). Many afternoons and evenings can be spent enjoying a cold beer from our extensive range (six real ales), a chilled Sauv Blanc, perhaps even a Rose or a refreshing Pimms, enjoy our great selection of sharing platters, deli boards & seafood platters all freshly prepared.

We also welcome bookings and parties of up to 35 people in our Private Dining Room!

The Newland Suite is a perfect choice for an informal wedding reception. We can accommodate 50 guests for a sit down wedding breakfast and up to 100 for an evening buffet reception. It is conveniently located in a private room at the rear of the Hotel with its own bar facility.

We can also help to organise your big day with cake, cars, flowers, balloons, decoration, the all important wedding breakfast, entertainment, and accommodation.
