Description

Essex Marine Services Limited, trading as LadyEssex.com, opperate out of Essex Marina, Wallasea Island and Burnham-on-Crouch Town Quay as well as other locations on the rivers crouch and roach.

We offer a scheduled ferry service between Wallasea and Burnham which will be running every weekend and Bank Holiday Monday until the end of September and at other times by arrangement.

Our Winter Bird and Wildlife Trips are very popular and you can exclusively charter Lady Essex for a 2-3 hour Bird and Wildlife Trip with a complimentary Tea or Coffee for only £60.00! (max 4 persons) running daily.
Book now to avoid disappointment! Target species include Waders Raptors Divers and Wildfowl as well as Common Seals.

On quite a number of these trips we are accompanied by an expert guide from the RSPB, who is able to give a very interesting and enlightening commentary as well as being able to answer your questions. Our guide will also point out all of the different bird species that you will see. As well as Common Seals and sometimes Atlantic Grey Seals we have also encountered Harbour Porpoise.

You are able to purchase gift vouchers for our popular seal and wildlife trips as gifts. These can be sent directly to the person or can be forwarded to you. The lucky benefactor can then book a trip to suit their diary.

Our vessels are available for private charter by both groups and individuals. Schools are most welcome and we can assist with the required risk assessment.
For larger parties it is more cost effective to charter the whole boat and we can tailor an individual package for any occasion. One of our wildlife trips coupled with a meal ashore is ideal for the whole family to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, or perhaps a trip up to Battlesbridge with time ashore?

For those that have not visited Wallasea recently it will be virtually unrecognisable. In a few short months the geography of the island was changed forever with the newly created Wallasea Wetlands Scheme, the largest controlled flooding in Europe. The RSPB has won the management contract for the wetland and over the next five years the aim is to turn the wetlands in to a major area for nature. The RSPB has also purchased a large part of Wallasea Island and over the next few years will be turning the island into a major new nature reserve.

Essex Marina has had a major transformation from a typical boatyard to what is now the number one boating centre of the UK with over 200 boats for sale. A new chandlery and a park and launch scheme are under way.
The Marina bar is under new management and provides a perfect setting for a meal or drink on the balcony overlooking the River Crouch.

The area is generally ideal for cyclists and walkers as there are no hills and a number of watering holes within easy reach. Camping facilities are available at the nearby Riverside Village Holiday Park.
