One of the most popular events of its kind in Essex, the Orsett Show once again celebrates with an action packed programme of fun and excitement as well as all the traditional events which local people have come to expect of one of the oldest surviving one-day Horticultural & Agricultural Shows in the Country.
The first recorded Country Show held in Orsett Village was a ploughing match held in 1841. Over the years the show has developed and is still very popular today. The Show remains one of the annual highlights of the Countys Social and Cultural calendar, and continues to go from strength to strength.

The Orsett Show projects a countryside atmosphere. Its truly a great day out with plenty for all the family to see and do, and affords the general public, and particularly the children the opportunity to see the sights and sounds of the countryside that are fast disappearing from our way of life. The 2011 Show promises to be bigger and better than ever with a huge array of displays and activities. There will be exciting events all day in the main events ring.
You will find many giant marquees housing and featuring, horticulture, local school displays, agriculture, hobbies & handicrafts, a large crafts marquee housing an incredible diversity of crafts, and a selling arcade. There will also be over 100 Trade stands situated within the showground selling an array of merchandise, and for the first time there will be a Food Hall under canvas. Over thirty producers from the local area will be presenting the cream of their crop.

The Main Display ring and Horse rings with over 90 classes will be a hive of activity throughout the day, including a very large entry of those gentle giants of the show ring, the Heavy Horse. The Equine aspect of the Show has always been very well supported with entries from all over the country, and is very popular with the spectators.
You will also be able to view...
