Parsonage Stables are situated in the picturesque village of Henham in North West Essex. The nineteenth century stables have been lovingly restored into four holiday cottages offering modern facilities in a traditional setting.

The stables are in the front yard of our working arable farm which is in the heart of the village, next to the church and almost opposite the pub. The farm has belonged to the Pimblett family since 1902 and is mainly arable, we have conservation grade status and crops grown are wheat, oats, barley and oilseed rape. Additionally there is a small herd of Dexter cattle, a few chickens and two guinea fowl! Other old farm buildings are now used by the Saffron Brewery, brewing beer available at the local pub, and the Saffron Ice Cream Company.

The Accommodation comprises four cottages, all of which have vaulted ceilings and exposed beams with fully equipped kitchens. The living area is open plan and each has a dining area and sitting area with flat screen television.

• The Tack Room accommodates five guests. Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed and bedroom two has three single beds, both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms.

• Shire Stable accommodates two guests. The bedroom has a king-size bed and bathroom.

• Suffolk Punch Stable accommodates four guests (plus two on sofa bed if required). Bedroom 1 has a double bed and bedroom two is twin bedded, both have ensuite shower rooms.

• Clydesdale Stable accommodates four guests. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and bedroom 2 is twin-bedded with one bathroom.

There are several good walks to be enjoyed and a few bridle ways. Well behaved pets and horses are welcome for an extra charge, there is stabling available.

In the surrounding area, there is Thaxted with its Guildhall and Music Festival, Saffron Walden Castle, Museum and Fry Art Gallery, the Rhodes Museum in Bishops Stortford, Henry Moore Gallery in Much Hadham and the fabulous Audley End which are all within a 30 minute drive.

Further afield is Cambridge to the north, a 30 minute train journey and London to the south in about 50 minutes. Elsenham Station is at the bottom of the hill about 1.5 miles away. We are very conveniently situated for Stansted Airport, only a ten minute drive.
