Description

A visit to Hyde Hall is unforgettable in any season, an oasis of calm and serenity amid the sprawling urbanisation that, for many people, characterises Essex.

RHS Garden Hyde Hall is the perfect place for families to discover the great outdoors. It offers a great day out for all the family with plenty to keep the children occupied.

There's plenty to do at Hyde Hall all year round. Seasonal “I-spy” garden trails and “Find & Stick” sheets are available from the Information Centre. You could also hire a ‘Garden Explorers’ rucksack for £3 (or two for £5) and you can get our hands-on activity pack.

With big open skies Hyde Hall is the perfect place for kite flying. Children who bring their own kite (during school holidays & weekends) will be admitted free.

We have two toilet blocks and a spacious baby care facility located in the main Hilltop Garden.

The majority of garden areas are pushchair/wheelchair friendly, but please note that during winter months some of the grassed areas may not be fully accessible. Manual wheelchairs are available for those less able (a refundable deposit is required).

Hyde Hall also offers a fantastic day out for groups whether you choose to arrange your trip to coincide with a specific event or not.

If you're feeling hungry we have a dedicated picnic area within easy reach of the car park or you may picnic in the garden itself. Alternatively the restaurant menu offers a wide variety of cooked meals and snacks made on the premises. We provide children's lunch boxes and all our hot meals can be served as a half-portion for children. High chairs are readily available and bottle warming facilities are available on request.

A sheltered tea garden provides a sunny outdoor dining area on warmer days.

The Hyde Hall Gift Shop will surprise and delight you. It is the perfect place to find that something special to treat family and friends from ranges produced especially for the RHS as well as carefully selected items including specialist food, china, glass and local crafts. Every purchase supports the works of the RHS.

We are open all year round, except Christmas Day, 10am to 4pm November to March and 10am to 6pm April to October. Last admission is one hour before closing.
