Description

"In its beautiful country setting you can walk amoung and feed the animals. Afterwards you can visit the tearooms and enjoy a cuppa, a hot meal or even an icecream. There is lots to do at Mistley Place Park and you are guaranteed to have a visit you will remember for a very long time." Ian, Ipswich

On the fringe of Constable Country in 25 acres of natural parkland Mistley Place Park is an animal sanctuary that receives no funding from outside organisations and relies totally on income from the tearooms and visitors to the park, along with donations from the public.

Here at Mistley Place Park, we have over 2,000 rescued animals at any one time and the numbers continue to increase.

Each animal needs care and feeding, whilst the staff dedicate their time to the well-being of the animals, the cost of running the Animal Rescue Centre needs to be met by charging an entrance fee, by the tearooms, and of course by generous donations from the public.

In 2005 Mistley rebuilt the tearoom to help boost the centre's income helping to fund the centre all year round.

This is especially important during the winter months when there are fewer visitors however the animals still need to be fed, cared for and the attention of vets whether there are visitors or not.

The tearoom serves drinks and homemade meals. There are also souvenirs and gifts on sale enabling you to support the sanctuary even if you do not wish to go around the park itself.

Remember! You don't need to pay the entrance fee in order to eat at the tearooms. However, why not visit the park and afterward enjoy a nice cuppa or ice cream! Always a welcomed bonus after a tiring walk around the paddocks and woodland walks.

Please visit our website for more information or for details on how to book a viewing of the Mistley Place Park house animals, please contact Maureen Taylor on 01206 396048.
