Magic of Christmas at Colchester Zoo

Visit the Magic of Christmas events at Colchester Zoo on the 26th & 27th of November and on the 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th & 17th until 24th of December 2011 and see Santa himself arriving with all his friends to meet everyone in his enchanted Christmas grotto which is open between 9.30am and 4pm each day and every paying child will get the chance to meet Santa and receive a present as well as his real live reindeer!

A range of additional entertainments includes the staff pantomime, ‘The Great Nursery Rhyme Crime’ showing twice a day, and other festive activities throughout the day such as Santa's real, live, reindeer, elf tales, festive dancing with Rudolph, and much more.

On the 26th & 27th of November and the 10th & 11th of December 2011 you will have the chance to visit Mother Christmas in the Enchanted Grotto when she makes her guest visits and on the 3rd of December there will be a Special Senses Santa Day with British Sign Language interpretation for children with hearing impairments that would like to meet Santa, as well as signing at other events, plus small animal handling sessions for the visually impaired.

We are open until 9pm on the 23rd of December for our Starlight late night opening which gives you the chance to enjoy all the Christmas illuminations as well as a host of extra events and feeds taking place!
