Medieval Battle at Hedingham Castle
Hedingham Castle under siege again, come along and witness a time of hand to hand combat, where medieval forces pit themselves against the mighty walls of Hedingham and its defending household. See the magnificent trebuchet, learn the role this weapon played in breaking down the defences. Wander through the living history camp lines and meet the fletcher keeping the army's archers supplied and the cook preparing medieval fare.

The Colchester Country Show
Colchester is to host its first ever Town & Country Show over the weekend of 24th & 25th April in the beautiful setting of Lower Castle Park, right in the heart of the Town.
With something for everyone, from Horkesley Park’s Heavy Horse Demonstration Team, birds of prey flying displays as well as the Essex 44th Regiment of Foot re-enactment group, Newfoundland Dogs, Donkey rides, children's farm, ferrets, as well as children's Puppet Shows and on Sunday the Companion Dog Show - so bring along a canine friend and have a go! (And all proceeds from entries will go to Marie Curie Cancer Care)
And if that's not all - as well as stick furniture making there will also be other rural demonstration skills to enjoy including braiding, spinning and weaving and country chair making, together with Cookery demonstrations and wine tasting throughout the weekend and you can sample and buy in our Arts, Crafts and Gifts marquees as well as Lifestyle and Food Stalls.

The Southend Robin Hood Country Show
People young, old and their canine chums can enjoy all the fun of the fair at the region's annual Robin Hood Country Show. Meet Robin Hood & Friends at this fantastic family day out in Southend.
The Show is packed with jousting displays, re-enactments, country pursuits and animal attractions, with much to explore, discover, watch, try and enjoy - as well as some great shopping in Friar Tucks Food Court & Little Johns Rural Craft Village and outside country trade stands.
This Years event features an "All About Dog Zone" - So, does your dog pull on a lead? Or does your dog still try to bite the postman? If so why not speak to celebrity canine experts Marie Miller & Sarah Fisher who will be at the show all weekend.
The show also features lots of doggie activities & fun dog competitions for you and your dog to have a go.

Westwood Park Summer Fair
The Westwood Park Summer Fair, a new event at the home of the Suffolk Punches north of Colchester where we combine the opening of the Gardens with a traditional weekend for the family and a chance to meet the farm’s animals.
We are delighted to have been invited by the Bunting family whose home and family businesses are based at beautiful Westwood Park, to launch a new summer show; one that we feel will become very much part of the circuit in years to come. Nestled in affuent commuter belt country, just to the north of Colchester in Essex, Westwood Park offers 16 acres of stunning gardens (not usually open to members of the public), woodland walks and trails as well as being the home of the Horkesley Park Suffolk Punch Display team who will be on hand throughout the weekend demonstrating a range of skills including ploughing and other working skills, dray rides.
Entertainment will include the Horkesley Park Suffolk Punch Horse Demonstration Team, children's farm, . Arts, craft and gift marquees as well as lifestyle and food hall stands will give you the chance to sample and buy unique products.

Vintage Vogue - The Essex Vintage Fashion Fair
The largest Vintage Fashion Fair covering East London, Essex and East Anglia, set just off the M25, Junction 28. Featuring over 60 of the most inspired and savvy dealers from around the country, with the widest selection of vintage and retro merchandise from the 1920's to the 1980's. This year we are introducing our very own "Vogue Tea Room" where you can take a break from all that shopping by drinking the finest teas from vintage china cups served with scrumptious homebaked cakes and sandwiches by our very own “Mr Lyons’ Nippy’s”.
