A Grade II* listed building built for Henry VIII in 1543. It is an amazing survival being an intact Tudor hunt standing, still surrounded by ancient Forest including Tudor trees dating from Henry's day.
The Tudor kitchen with lavish displays of historic food is always appreciated by our visitors and simple dressing up clothes and brass rubbings are provided for the young and the young at heart.
The shop stocks books, pocket money toys with a Tudor theme and traditional wooden toys.
Don't miss the view across Epping Forest from the upper floors and the unique atmosphere of this building.

Epping Forest is the largest public open space in the London area, at almost 6,000 acres. It stretches 12 miles from Manor Park in East London to just north of Epping in Essex. As well as being a popular area for recreation and enjoyment it is also of national and international conservation importance with two thirds of it being designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation.
