Whether you’re holidaying in East Anglia or visiting Colchester on business, Castle Road Cottages offer the perfect blend of stylish accommodation and good location. The town centre is only a few minutes walk away and yet Castle Road itself is as leafy and peaceful as a country lane.

We provide everything you’ll need to make your visit as comfortable as possible – from the finest-quality towels and bedlinen to complimentary tea, ground coffee and fresh fruit to welcome you after your journey. You can arrive and depart on any day of the week and we offer midweek/weekend breaks all year round, as well as special terms for stays of four weeks and longer.

A classic Victorian artisan cottage, No. 6 adjoins Colchester’s spacious Castle Park. With its lovingly restored period details – cast-iron fireplaces, stripped woodwork, antique furnishings and traditional bed linen – the cottage perfectly encapsulates the atmosphere of an earlier, less hurried era. The pretty back garden with table and chairs is sheltered and secluded and there is off-road parking by the side of the house.

The cottage sleeps three or four to suit your arrangements. Upstairs there is a double room (the bed can be configured as two singles if required), a single bedroom with 4ft French bed and a bathroom. There is a large and very comfortable sofa-bed downstairs for additional guests. In the living room there is a TV/DVD player and sound system, with a separate dining room for family meals and entertaining. The kitchen is fully equipped with a washer-drier, electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, crockery, cutlery and glasses.
