Roger and Brenda are looking forward to welcoming you to Earls Hall Farm. Pond House is a redbrick, Victorian farmhouse with a large garden consisting of herbaceous borders, a large pond and woodland area where guests may wander and relax. Pond Cottage is an annexe of Pond House. Great care has been taken to provide comfortable yet informal accommodation for guests staying in Pond House, for bed and breakfast and in Pond Cottage. Many little extras are provided and we try to provide for all your needs so you can relax and enjoy your stay.
The house is situated in the centre of our family run farming business which is predominately arable, growing combinable crops. Beef cattle are fattened in the winter, sheep may be grazing the reservoir banks in summer and we produce Farm Fresh Bronze Turkeys for the Christmas market. Guests are encouraged to walk the lovely footpaths around the farm and enjoy the wildlife. We also have a Caravan Club 5 Pitch meadow.
Fishing is available, but only by prior arrangement and clay pigeon shooting, horse riding and golf are all within 2 miles.
We are approximately 2 miles from the coast either through the historic village of St Osyth or head for the seafront of Clacton, a busy seaside town with good amenities and shops.
Both rooms are en suite and look out over the garden. Tea, coffee, water and other beverages are provided plus a variety of biscuits.
Bath sheet, hand towels and a bathrobe are provided to help make your stay pleasant and relaxing. A variety of toiletries including Molten Brown and Bronnley are in the bathroom along with other items often forgotten when packing for a holiday.
The rooms also have books, magazines, TV with ‘Freeview’ and a Clock Radio.
The double bed room offers a Super King-size zip & link bed and the twin beds are standard size. The duvets are ‘all season’ offering you a choice of Tog values of 4, 9 or 13 and the duvets used on the twin beds are double size.
Guests are welcome to use the sitting room where home made cakes, tea, coffee and other beverages are available. Local information, maps, places of interest to visit, bird watching information and games are provided. A small fridge is available for guests to use.
We do not offer evening meals as there are several places to eat locally but as we have two Chinese restaurants and an India restaurant in St Osyth that both offer a Take Away service guests may use the breakfast room in the evenings by prior arrangement.
Enjoy a leisurely start to the day in the Breakfast Room which looks out over the pond and garden. The following menu is available and wherever possible I use local produce including bacon from Wick Manor Pork in Maldon, the sausages are made at our local butchers in St Osyth and the bread is made at the Bakehouse in Clacton. Eggs are from our own hens and not pasteurised.
Children welcome from the age of 12.
All diets are catered for but please let me know if you have any special requirements.
