We are a large town centre hotel with a difference. We are privately owned so quality, service and our reputation for providing these are what we depend on.

50 comfortably designed bedrooms, with a range of doubles, twins and single rooms, all with Flat Screen TV, WI-FI internet, trouser press, direct dial telephones, complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits in all rooms. As part of our major refurbishment project in 2009 we now have a stunning Suite with a total of 16 Superior and Premium Rooms at standards that you would expect from a 4 Star quality hotel.

The Hotel is located within a few minutes walk from the train station and a couple of minutes from Chelmsford town centre making this a superb location to stay if you are visiting Chelmsford or it's surrounding areas. Stratford Olympic station only 35 minutes from door to door!

The County Kitchen are pleased to announce we have recently won an AA Rosette. Our Chefs produce an extensive ‘A la Carte’ menu. Our style is classic British food in a modern style. Using only the best of British seasonal ingredients.

Whether for conferences, weddings or large private parties The County can provide you with excellent Banqueting facilities.

The County is also a popular meeting and conference venue. All meeting rooms are purpose built and have natural daylight – with five rooms available. Four rooms are on the ground floor with easy access to a disabled toilet.

We can accommodate from 2 to 150 delegates on day delegate and also offer a residential 24 hour rate.

Ideally situated within 5 minutes walk from Chelmsford train and bus stations and with 80 car parking spaces we are close to the M25 J8, A12, A130 and the A414.
