Emsworth House is situated on the Essex/Suffolk border with stunning views of the Stour estuary, which is only two minutes walk from the house.

Our rooms look out at beautiful views of the countryside and the River Stour. There is one double room with washbasin and two en suite rooms all of which have tea and coffee making facilities, and television.

Breakfast is served in a spacious dining room, which adjoins a lovely drawing room that overlooks the garden, river and fields. All tastes are catered for, traditional English, continental and vegetarian.

We are very convenient for visiting 'Constable Country', Dedham, Flatford and East Bergholt, and exploring Colchester, the oldest recorded town in Britain.

Specialist gardens including Beth Chatto and The Place for Plants.

The Essex Way runs near to the house.

Birdwatching, cycling, walking, golf, tennis, swimming, theatres, cinemas including The Electric Palace in Harwich and art galleries.

There is an excellent choice of restaurants and pubs locally in Manningtree and Mistley including The Thorn, and The Mistley Quay Cafe.
