VE Day Celebrations at Royal Gunpowder Mills
A weekend of celebration and remembrance, with another chance to see the spectacular flying display by the Grace Spitfire on Bank Holiday Monday 2nd May. An added attraction this year will be the worlds only MKII B Hurribomber (1942) who will also be carrying out an aerobatic display on Sunday 1st May. This ever popular event recreates both civilian and military life during WWII, with a nostalgic return to street parties, jive dancing to Glen Miller and rationing. There will be many living history camps to explore and an opportunity to speak to the soldiers to find out what life was like out in the field. Each day there will be a battle re enactment between the allies and the axis soldiers.

Military & Flying Machines Show
This year the Military and Flying Machines Show promises to be better than ever! It is the fastest growing military vehicle show in the UK!.
Last year's show was an outstanding success with over 17,000 visitors and being recognised and awarded, by a top specialist magazine, as one of the Top 10 Military Events of 2010.
This fantastic show really is an essential day in the family calendar at a truly excellent value for money entry price. This year Military and Flying Machines will again give you the opportunity to see amazing flying displays, over 300 military vehicles, from the small but mighty jeeps to the massive tanks, armoured tank transporters and heavy artillery displays! There will also be a chance to see over 60 historical re-enactment displays depicting life in the military (of many nations) from medieval times right up to the modern day with accurate uniforms and authentic equipment giving a realistic insight into the life of the soldier. We will also have live 'wartime' entertainment in our 700 person marquee all day and arena activities including firepower demonstrations with a wartime field gun! And mock battles throughout the weekend, marching band, flight simulator, and a massive militaria fair and family stalls, Helicopter experiences and activities for the kids including mini Jeep and Mini Land Rover rides, and drill with "Major Headache" and so much more there will be lots to do for all the family!

Clacton Air Show
2011 celebrates 20 years of the Clacton Air Show!
The event organised by Tendring District Council, is a well-established event on the Essex Sunshine Coast. While most eyes will be looking to the skies for air displays there will be a whole host of on-site catering, trade stands and entertainment at ground level stretching along the show site on Clacton's seafront. Each day will have a full flying programme which in previous years has included the world famous Red Arrows, Harrier, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and Wingwalkers, as well as other spectacular craft. BBC Essex will be providing Radio Air show on 729am throughout the flying displays as well as providing live commentary.
